Well we did just that yesterday afternoon, in the almost 100 degree weather. However, we were successful!! My hubby got this net to use when practicing his golf swing. He wanted to put it in the backyard and I was elected as his helper. He stayed calm and collected (this is the same man who sits in front of the computer cussing people out while playing poker) while I was getting very frustrated with the useless instructions. (I'm the patient, quiet one while playing poker on the computer ;) )

It was time to trim the plants and freeze some for later use. I discovered this technique las year, when I had my first basil plant. Kalyn's Kitchen has a post about this and it really works. I was able to cook with fresh (frozen) basil during the winter.
Here's where I got the technique
7月22日 Shrimp Ceviche served with "Chips"Hubby asked for Shrimp Ceviche. This stuff is seriously good and pretty low carb. Here's the recipe:
8 ounces of frozen precooked salad/small shrimp defrosted
juice from 3-4 lemons
1/2 cup chopped onion (or more to taste)
2 tomatoes diced
2 large avocados-diced
diced fresh chiles or jalapenos to taste (usually just 1)
celantro -chopped about 1/4 cup(or more to taste)
just combine everything together and let chill- will taste better if it marinates for a bit
7月21日 Joseph's Lavash Bread & Pitas make great cereal and chipsI stumbled on a recipe using Joseph's Lavash Bread on the Low Carb Friends Site. This is a great idea. I made a batch of cereal in the oven and in the microwave. The batch from the oven REALLY looks like cereal!! Here's where I got the technique--
Here's the oven cereal...this is 1/2 a serving
I made some microwave chips to go with some turkey salad-----I'm so happy! Each pita is 4 net carbs--depending on how you cut the pita, you can get 16-20 chips!!
They are crispy and crunchy-just 1 minute in the microwave!
7月20日 Grillin Kabobs and AsparagusI grilled some delicious beef kabobs today....I actually used cubed roast meat that I marinated in the Beef in a Bag recipe here. http://www.eatinglow.com/ep52beefinbag.htm
I marinated the beef for 24 hours and then skewered it with veggies.
I'm serving it with some homemade Almond Cherry Ice Cream!

I've tried these noodle in the past and just didn't care for them. When I went to Tim's Oriental Market recently, I decided to pick up a couple of packages and try them again. I'm so glad I did. I ate this whole plate and it was approximately 6 carbs and about 320 calories. 1/4 cup peanut butter
2 tbsp coconut oil (or unsalted butter)
2 teaspoons sugar free honey
1 tbsp heavy whipping cream (or coconut milk)
1/4 tsp vanilla
4-5 drops sweetzfree (or preferred sweetener)
pinch of salt
1/2 cup roasted nuts
Add peanut butter, honey and oil to microwave safe bowl-mic on high for 1 minute.
Remove and whisk in vanilla and cream.
Stir in sweetzfree and salt
Fold in nuts and drop on pan lined with wax paper.
Chill in freezer until set.
